淮陽驢，中原優良驢種，可細分為粉黑驢、銀河驢兩種。系1980年河南省馬匹調查隊與淮陽畜牧資源調查組通過多方調查而確定。因驢群基本分布于淮陽境內，故又統稱為淮陽驢。粉黑驢體格較大，體幅寬，后軀高于前軀，體質結實。毛短細密，色黑光亮，嘴頭眼皮及下腹均為雪白色，界限分明。頭部適中，耳聳立，眼有神。口略方，齒整齊，頭昂頸厚，前胸發達，雙脊背，肋弓圓，背腰稍寬且平直。后軀肌肉豐滿，四肢端正，蹄圓質堅。銀河驢體格高大，髻甲高峻，毛略粗長，紅白相間，嘴眼周圍及下腹呈粉紅色。頭適中，面平直，眼大口方，耳薄聳立，耳內有簇白毛，腰平腹圓，單脊長尻，四肢如柱，筋腱明顯，蹄色蠟黃，堅實耐磨。以上兩種成年種公驢平均體高131.7厘米，體長130.5厘米，胸圍142厘米，管圍17.3厘米；母驢平均體高123.1厘米，胸圍133.6厘米，體長125.2厘米，管圍14.7厘米。 


    Hauiyang donkey is a quality donkey breed in the Central Plain which can be divided into two kinds: pink-black donkey and silver donkey. Because these two kinds of donkeys are mainly produced in Huaiyang, they are called in a general term Huaiyang donkey.
      
    Pink-black donkeys have big, wide and strong bodies, short and bushy hairs, shiny and black skins and plump muscles. Their mouths, eyelids and hypogastrium are covered with white hairs. While, different with them, silver donkeys have a little long enter and thick hairs, red and white alternated color and pink hypogastrium and areas around mouth and eyes.
