Tanghe Aromatic Rice
Tanghe aromatic rice is historic and enjoys a good reputation. The Emperor Guangxu in Qing Dynasty praised it highly after eating and awarded it a name of Aromatic Rice. From then on, it became famous in all the country.
Tanghe aromatic rice is planted in late June and gets mature in September. When it begins to bloom flowers, it throws off strong fragrant smell. Its grains are longer than other average sticky rice, appearing light red color and having a tiny brown spot at the big end. We can add a little rather than so much, otherwise, there will be smell of burnt food. If made into drinks, it will be more aromatic and beneficial to our health.
Aromatic rice is mainly produced in some villages in Tangxian, Huyang, Qiyi County and Mazhenfu Village. Nevertheless, due to it has long growth period and low yield, it has almost disappeared nowadays.
