蓍草菊科蓍屬植物——高山蓍草、歐蓍草和云南蓍草 的全草。夏秋采收，洗凈，鮮用或曬干。原產東亞、西伯利亞、日本及中國云南、四川、貴州、湖南西北部、湖北西部、河南西北部、山西南部、陜西中南部、甘肅東部。生于山坡草地或灌叢中。耐寒，喜溫暖、濕潤；陽光充足及半陰處皆可正常生長。不擇土壤， 但在排水良好、富含有機質及石灰質的砂壤土上生長良好。全草具有解毒消腫，止血，止痛的功能。
        
    蓍草被認為是惡魔最愛的植物之一，因此又稱為惡魔蕁麻。它是運用于愛情及婚姻的魔咒，切開蓍草莖，里面會出現人未來伴侶姓氏的第一個字母。在占卜前喝蓍草茶則可以提高預知能力。


 

Chenzhou Yallow

    Yallow includes alpine yallow, European yallow and Yunnan yallow, which belong to compositae plants. It is harvested in summer or autumn when it is washed and used freshly or after dried. It always grows on grassland on slope or in bush fallows. It has characteristics of enduring cold, loving warm and moist climate, being able to grow in shinning or half-shady places, not picky on soils and so on. However, it likes sandy loam most which is well drained and full of organic matter and calcareous lands. Furthermore, it contains medical functions of detoxicating, detumescence, hemostasis and painkilling.
