洛陽櫻桃,歷史悠久。《爾雅》和《吳氏本草》中名為朱茱、麥英、荊桃。洛陽盆地四周,坑、凹、溝地脈多,且向陽背風,近泉水小溪,濕度、溫度相宜,適宜櫻桃的生長。
洛陽南部和西北部櫻桃興盛,數量多,品種好,產果量高。最為有名的有三處:一是城北的湹河,素有“湹壑朱櫻”之稱;以是唐代宰相李德裕的名園,平泉莊一帶,素稱櫻山;一是城西自大凹、王坑、蔡家坑、徐家坑、王村溝連成一線的十里櫻桃溝,正屬隋朝時西園的一部分,是生產櫻桃的地方。
洛陽櫻桃主要品種是小元寶、鴨嘴型和北京紅三種。櫻桃的大小都在八分左右,較大的是鴨嘴型的櫻桃,一般有八分以上。
洛陽櫻桃的品味特點是酸甜相宜,經測試甜度在11—12度以上,歷來人們都愛吃洛陽櫻。洛陽櫻桃除鮮美可口外,還有“調中”、“益脾”、“美志氣”之功效,但熱量大,食之不可過量。
Luoyang Cherries
Luoyang cherries have a long history. Luoyang Basin is located in shining places and has many springs and steamlets which endows it appropriate moisture and temperature to the growth of cherries. The southern and northwestern owns more cherries which are in great quantity, good breed and high yield. Luoyang has three major varieties: Small Yuanbao,D Duckbilled and Bejing Hong.
Luoyang cherries taste sweet and sour, which are popular with the masses. Besides delicious flavor, they still have medical functions. However, they contain high quantity of heat so that we shouldn't eat too much at a time.
