固始鴨又稱固始麻鴨，中心產區在河南省固始縣及周圍各縣，是一個很好的地方品種。全縣年飼養量在100萬只以上。 　　
      
    固始鴨屬中型蛋肉兼用麻鴨，毛色絕大多數為褐麻色。母鴨眼上有一條黃或白眉，虹彩褐色，極少數呈藍色。胸腹色較淺。喙青黃色，多為黑 嘴。趾黃紅色，少數紅黑色，膚白色。公鴨頭頸上部多為黑毛發綠光。翅尾有少量黑毛。前胸和腹色淺，多為淺白色，少數頸有白色環。
      
    固始鴨肉質細嫩，尤其是成年公鴨的湯汁鮮美可口，具有很強的補養功能，為當地婦女褥期必備之品。固始麻鴨蛋外殼為青色或淡青色，蛋黃大而紅，當地在清明前后，有腌制咸鴨蛋的習慣，而“薄餅饃卷鴨蛋”的吃法堪稱一絕。


 

Gushi Ducks

    Gushi ducks belong to moderate sheldrakes which can be fed for meet or eggs. Most of them have white or yellow eyebrow above their eyes, brown bodies, green-yellow beaks, black mouths, yellow-red feet and white skin. In the terms of male ducks and female ducks, the former have black hairs on heads and a little on the ends of wings while the latter have a yellow or white eyebrow above their eyes which male ducks doesn't not have. Gushi ducks have fine and smooth meet and taste very delicious. More than anything else, mature male ducks have so strong nourishing functions that they are always regarded as necessary food for lying-in women.
