中州名貴蘿卜品種之一。其青長白短,體圓粗長,故名“大頭青”。其特點:質細脆靈,生吃甜如梨,炒熟味甘可口。擲之于地,皮崩斷裂成瓣。以蜂蜜炙之熬湯,祛風解咳,療效高于一般蘿卜,兼有健胃、助消化功能。據傳宋代政治家寇準曾路過榆林,口干舌燥時見有人販賣削皮蘿卜,便買來解渴,吃后嘖嘖稱贊“蘿卜甜似梨,食后爽心脾。”
Yulin Green-big-end Radish
Yulin Green-big-end Radish is a famous and precious variety which is named for its big green part and round and short shape. It has characteristics of fine and crisp nature quality, as sweet as pears when eaten rawly. Its curative effects of relieving rheumatic pains and coughs are better than other kinds of radish. Besides, it has medical functions of notifying stomach and helping digest as well. It's said that the famous official Kou Zhun in Northern Song Dynasty gave a high praise to it after his tasting.
