河南鹿邑試量集的狗肉是豫東著名的風(fēng)味小吃之一，它以肉爛味美聞名全國。
      
    試量集狗肉采用傳統(tǒng)的制作方法，配有多種佐料，并加火硝少許，去雜后文火燜煮。煮成的狗肉顏色鮮艷，濃香撲鼻。
      
    據(jù)說狗肉的香，居肉類食品之最。狗肉的補(bǔ)性，可與貴重補(bǔ)品媲美。再加上鹿邑試量集有制作狗肉的傳統(tǒng)技術(shù)，做出的狗肉與眾不同，所以慕名前來爭相購買的情景就可想而知了。
      
    試量集在鹿邑城西25公里處。試量狗肉特點(diǎn)是：顏色鮮紅，手捻為絲，味道鮮美，熏香醇厚，久貯不腐。
      
    試量狗肉，采用祖?zhèn)髦谱鞣椒ǎ�配有各種佐料，并加火硝少許。去雜后，文火燜煮，煮成的狗肉，濃香撲鼻，沒有腥味。很久以來，不少中外客商慕名前來，爭相購買。
      
    據(jù)傳，西漢末年，劉秀被王莽追趕至現(xiàn)鹿邑縣試量集郎莊東地時(shí)，已累得精疲力盡。他忽見田間有一老翁正在埋頭趕牛犁地，便忙著上前求救。老翁得知詳情后，速讓劉秀躺在墑溝里，而自己卻若無其事地繼續(xù)干著田里活。
      
    不一會，王莽的聞龍犬趕到，到處亂聞亂扒。眼見這“狗東西”快要接近劉秀了，老翁急中生智揚(yáng)手一鞭將犬打死，并立即拖至墑溝里遮好。這時(shí)，王莽帶領(lǐng)人馬趕到，急問犁地的老翁是否看到一人和一犬？老翁鎮(zhèn)靜地故意指錯方向，將王莽騙走。劉秀就此得救，謝過要走。老人哪里肯依？便將狗煮給劉秀吃。劉秀因饑腸轆轆，邊吃邊夸狗肉味美。
      
    后來，劉秀當(dāng)了皇帝，他常想起落難時(shí)吃過的狗肉來，便傳旨派人把試量集的狗肉都抬進(jìn)宮來，他邊吃邊夸道：“天下美味孤吃夠，吃不夠試量的好狗肉。”由此，試量集的狗肉一舉聞名，久盛不衰，相傳至今。
